Home Treatment for Hemorrhoids

In this section we will be discussing various home treatments for hemorrhoids to help tackle this problem.  We do, however, advise you to seek medical help to properly diagnose your condition and to plan out how you will get rid of hemorrhoids once and for all.

Before we start talking about home treatments for hemorrhoids, let’s first take a look at what causes this condition in the first place.  The main reason why people get hemorrhoids is because the veins around their anus swell, and this is usually a result of chronic constipation.  As you probably know, this is a very painful condition and it’s also known as piles.

An individual may experience difficulty in passing stool due to the mass that begins to grow just outside of the anal area.  Passing stool becomes rather painful and this may lead to the release of blood in the stool.

While it’s recommended to visit a doctor if you experience severe hemorrhoids, for most people home treatments for hemorrhoids seem to do the trick.  Many people have found success in dealing with their hemorrhoids using only natural cures for hemorrhoids.  While we are not exactly sure whether all home treatments work, so many people claim that they’ve been able to effectively treat their hemorrhoids that we are compelled to think that they in fact do work.

The main focus of home treatments for hemorrhoids involve managing to get healthy bowel habits and preventing painful stools.  In order to achieve this, a good deal of fiber and water is added to the diet.  An easy way to go about doing this is to simply keep a certain diet intake regularly.

What are some home remedies for hemorrhoids?

Onion juice seems to be the most simple of home remedies for hemorrhoids out there to stop bleeding hemorrhoids.  It helps to stop blood flow when passing stool.  Other home treatments range from drinking the water from boiling sesame seeds to soaking figs in water overnight and taking the liquid in the morning before eating.

Some helpful fruits include mango, banana, and jambu fruit.  Bananas that are boiled and ripe, when mixed with about a cup of milk, and taken roughly 4 or 5 times daily, can help to relieve hemorrhoids.  If you have any dried mango seeds laying around, you can grind them up into powder and take them with a liquid 2 or 3 times a day to help ease the passage of stool.

Other effective home treatments for hemorrhoids include juices from the following vegetables: radish, mint leaves, lemon, carrot, and spinach.  Coriander seeds are great for treating hemorrhoids.  Just remember to take them early in the day when your stomach is still empty.  It seems to work for many.

Severe Hemorrhoids

If you experience extreme hemorrhoid pain, the most recommended home treatment for hemorrhoids is to take sitz baths at least 3 times a day and as many as needed throughout the day to alleviate the pain.  To perform a sitz bath, fill your tub with water to a height where if you lay down it’ll cover your anal area.  You just sit there for about half an hour and this will help relieve the pain and swelling.  But also remember to dry the skin around the anal region thoroughly in order to prevent any tear or rashes in the skin.

It’s a must to cleanse the anus with a moistened toilet paper after every bowel movement.  This act will prevent the worsening of the condition.  Another type of thermotherapy is to apply ice packs to the area affected by hemorrhoids.  As with sitz baths, it will help alleviate pain.

Increase your blood flow and decrease the swelling down there by eating horse chestnuts.  It can even help to prevent prolapsed hemorrhoids.  If you experience kidney or liver problems, however, you should avoid horse chestnuts.

Let Your Doctor Know What’s Up

As with anything else healthwise, talk to your doctor about any kind of treatment you plan to undergo because even small changes in your diet can have unwanted effects to your health.
